Biography

Kazhia Kolb was born in New York City in 1953.  She grew up near London, England, and in 1971 moved to Paris, France, to study at the Sorbonne and at the École des Beaux Arts.  She has lived in the U.S. since 1978 and in Saint Meinrad,  Indiana since 2006.

Over the last 30 years she has exhibited work in Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. Her work is found in various private and corporate collections, including the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Media General Corporation, Owensboro Medical Health System, St. Vincent/St. Mary's Health System of Evansville, and Mount Carmel Health System, Columbus, Ohio.

Kazhia paints on location where the constantly changing light is both a challenge and a source of inspiration. The artist is enthralled by the dramatic action of sunlight as it reveals forms and colors.  Favorite subjects include ‘windowscapes,’ woodland landscapes, and water scenes.
